Smooth center section for low rolling resistance. The tread has been slightly trimmed down to decrease rotational weight. For maximum control, the side tread blocks are connected to the smooth center tread to increase stability and prevent the tread from squirming under load. To better serve the needs of Bikelife, Merritt has taken their "Slidewall" technology and
